"Tuning over 50 SQL queries per day" AI-based "QueryMedic" short-term tuning service launched.

"Normalize resources and mitigate infrastructure cost risks with 'SQL Optimization' before server expansion."
"Complete months of expert work in two weeks with AI, eliminating blind spots in overall management."

[IT Daily] Openmade Consulting (CEO Choi Young-cheol), a database (DB) performance optimization specialist, announced on the 6th that it is launching the ‘Query Medic 2-Week Intensive Optimization Program.’ The program is characterized by the intensive use of the AI-based SQL auto-tuning solution ‘Query Medic’ for two weeks without the burden of purchasing a license.

This program was designed for SMEs/mid-market companies feeling the burden of high solution costs amid the current ‘Infrastructure Inflation’ caused by skyrocketing GPU and memory prices, as well as large corporations needing regular DB performance checks. Instead of traditional perpetual licenses or reckless hardware expansion, the core of the program is to activate the license for only two weeks when needed, normalizing system resources through software-based optimization and intensively improving SQL performance.

According to Openmade Consulting, many companies prioritize server expansion to resolve system slowdowns, but this is often costly and fails to provide a fundamental solution. Accordingly, the company presented an approach of ‘Tune First, Expand Later’ through this program.

The company explained that addressing resource waste caused by inefficient SQL through AI-based auto-tuning first can help strategically delay infrastructure expansion and better manage cloud operating expenses (OPEX).

Furthermore, databases are known to experience an ‘aging phenomenon’ where performance degrades as the period of operation increases. Analysis also suggests that traditional manpower-centric manual tuning is limited, with one expert handling only 50 to 100 cases per month, often leaving a significant portion of the total SQL unmanaged.

The company explained that by utilizing Query Medic’s AI LLM engine, a workload that would take several experts months to complete can be performed in about two weeks. This approach is expected to deliver benefits such as cost reduction, elimination of management blind spots, and short-term intensive optimization.

Specifically, based on a proven architecture combined with AI LLM technology, Query Medic provides features such as △Automatic/Manual selection of SQL targets △Automatic verification of tuning results △Index impact analysis △On-premise support △Over 80% tuning success rate △Support for RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) △Automatic DML SQL tuning.

CEO Choi Young-cheol of Openmade Consulting stated, “In an era of skyrocketing semiconductor prices and cloud costs, AI-based auto-tuning is an economic strategy for infrastructure advancement. Through this 2-week intensive program, we hope companies will realize top-tier productivity at a reasonable cost and regain the ‘Golden Age’ of DB performance.”
