Launch of ‘OpenPOP OTO’

Automatic SQL conversion, execution results, performance comparison, and verification
As the transition from Oracle DBMS to open source DBMS accelerates, a solution that makes the transition easy is becoming a hot topic.
On the 22nd, Openmade Consulting (CEO Choi Young-cheol) announced the launch of 'OpenPOP OTO', which allows for easy conversion of Oracle DBMS to open source DBMS.
'OpenPop O2' is a solution that automatically supports verification of SQL quality and performance stabilization while reducing costs by shortening the DB conversion period when converting Oracle DB to open source DB.

In reality, when converting to an open source DB, ▲it takes a lot of manpower and time to perform the entire process from converting SQL to verifying the converted SQL, and ▲after conversion, it is difficult to clearly and effectively compare and verify the execution results and performance of the app/SQL compared to AS-IS (existing Oracle).
Looking at the main functions of this 'Open Pop O2', it has the characteristic of focusing on solving such difficult problems.
- Automatically convert Oracle SQL to open source DB SQL
- Check the quality and execution errors of converted SQL
- Compare/verify the number of processing cases and result values with AS-IS (Oracle) for the execution results of the converted SQL
- Compare/analyze the performance changes in the execution performance of converted SQL with AS-IS (Oracle)
- Optimal index guide through SQL analysis , etc.
In addition, 'OpenPop O2' has the advantage of being able to convert SQL suitable for open source DB in a short period of time and quickly extracting error SQL at the same time as conversion, but it also provides information on the location source file of SQL that needs to be modified for error correction and performance improvement.
In particular, the function of automatically comparing and verifying the execution results and performance of SQL between ASIS/TOBE (Oracle DB/Open Source DB) in a short period of time for converted SQL is expected to be the greatest advantage that will attract the attention of companies as it is a unique function provided only by 'OpenPop O2' both domestically and internationally.
These automation functions of 'OpenPop O2' are expected to greatly contribute to stabilizing the operating performance of open source DBs by reducing the burden of app verification (testing) through automatic verification of performance and SQL execution results for converted SQLs, as well as shortening the conversion period to open source DBs.

The open source DB supported in the initial version of 'OpenPop O2' is Postgre SQL (including EDB), and although it is not an open source DB, conversion to Tibero DB is also supported.
In addition, Openmade Consulting will also provide conversion support for MySQL DB within the year and plans to add additional functions within the year.
Choi Young-cheol, CEO of Openmade Consulting, emphasized, “The index optimization function is a function that can maximize the performance of DB/SQL in a short period of time because it automatically runs performance simulation on index redesign and design results through the OpenPOP engine from the perspective of analyzing all SQLs and improving the shortcomings of the current index, and recommends the optimal index for each table based on the performance results. With such powerful functions provided, it will be possible to build a stable operating environment for open source DB in a short period of time.”
