Strengthening DB performance failure prevention function through SQL quality check based on ‘OPEN-POP’ execution

[IT Daily] Open Made Consulting (CEO Choi Young-cheol) recently announced an upgraded version of 'OPEN-POP (hereinafter referred to as Open POP),' a DB performance failure prevention solution through SQL quality/performance management. The biggest feature of the newly released version is that the DB performance failure prevention function has been significantly strengthened by applying the 'execution-based SQL quality check' function.

OpenPop's 'Execution-based SQL quality check' feature combines with OpenPop's existing SQL quality/performance check process to simultaneously check the quality and performance of SQL at all stages, enabling proactive prevention of DB performance failures through flawless SQL.

First, in the development stage, the existing 'development SQL quality/performance check' is used, but quality checks are now possible for actually executed SQL statements for SQL statements that exist in various forms that were difficult to quality check in the past. By simultaneously checking the quality and performance of a single executed development SQL, early quality stabilization is possible. In addition, the quality check items have been expanded to about 30 items by collecting various customer requirements.

Second, with regard to distribution, the main function, ‘distribution control’, has been strengthened to check the quality of the distribution target SQL as well as block inappropriate SQL by simply verifying the performance of the distribution target SQL, thereby enabling distribution of only SQL with both appropriate quality and performance.

Third, in the operation stage, in addition to the existing 'DB/SQL comprehensive diagnosis' function that focuses on DB status and SQL performance analysis, a function has been added to check the quality of SQL running on the operation system, and to check for factors that may cause performance problems in the future even though they appear to be okay so far, and to take measures in advance. This has greatly improved the level of performance problem prevention for DB/SQL in the operation environment.

Choi Young-cheol, CEO of Openmade Consulting, expressed confidence in the product, saying, “The ‘Quality Check of Execution-based SQL’ function added to Openpop this time is designed to check the quality and performance of the same SQL simultaneously at all stages from development to operation, so it can be said to have implemented a true ‘E2E SQL performance failure prevention.’”
