Openmade Consulting launches new product ‘Openpop2’, a solution that supports conversion from Oracle to open source DB

- Automatic SQL conversion when converting Oracle DB to open source DB

- Comparison of execution results and performance. Automation up to verification.

- Expected effects of shortening the period and reducing costs

- Can also be used as a BMT tool for performance comparison/verification by DB

Openmade Consulting (CEO Choi Young-cheol), which provides 'OpenPOP', a SQL quality/performance optimization solution for preemptive prevention of DB performance failures, recently launched 'OpenPOP OTO'.

The company stated that this product is a solution that drastically shortens the DB conversion period when converting Oracle DB to open source DB, reduces costs, and automatically supports verification of SQL quality and performance stabilization.

The main functions of 'OpenPop2' are ▲Automatically converting Oracle SQL to open source DB SQL ▲Checking the quality and execution errors of the converted SQL ▲Comparing/verifying the number of processing cases and result values with AS-IS (Oracle) regarding the execution results of the converted SQL ▲Comparing/analyzing the performance change differences with AS-IS (Oracle) regarding the execution performance of the converted SQL ▲Optimal index guide through SQL analysis, etc.

The company emphasized that these automation functions of 'OpenPop2' will greatly help stabilize the operating performance of open source DBs by reducing the burden of App verification (testing) through automatic verification of performance and SQL execution results for converted SQLs as well as shortening the conversion period to open source DBs.

The concept of 'open pop-o-two'

In reality, when converting to an open source DB, ▲it takes a lot of manpower and time to perform the entire process from converting SQL to verifying the converted SQL, and ▲after conversion, it is difficult to clearly and effectively compare/verify the execution results and performance of App/SQL compared to AS-IS (existing Oracle).

Openmade Consulting explains that the launch of 'OpenPop2' will be very welcome news to customers who are having difficulty making the decision to switch to open source DB due to these difficulties.

The open source DB supported in the initial version of 'OpenPop2' that is being released this time is PostgreSQL (including EDB), and although it is not an open source DB, conversion to Tibero DB is also supported.

Additionally, Openmade Consulting revealed that a plan to support conversion to MySQL DB is currently under development, with a target date of the end of this year.

'Open Pop-O-Two' support function

'OpenPop2' has the advantage of being able to convert SQL suitable for open source DB in a short period of time and quickly extracting error SQL at the same time as conversion, but it also provides information on the location source file of SQL that needs to be modified for error correction and performance improvement.

In particular, the function of automatically comparing/verifying the execution results and performance of SQL between ASIS/TOBE (Oracle DB/Open Source DB) in a short period of time for converted SQL is expected to be the greatest advantage that will attract customers' attention as it is a unique function provided only by 'Open Pop-O-2' both domestically and internationally.

In addition, the optimization function for indexes automatically runs performance simulation of index redesign and design results through the OpenPOP engine from the perspective of analyzing all SQLs and improving deficiencies in current indexes, and then recommends the optimal index for each table based on the performance results.

Openmade Consulting CEO Choi Young-cheol emphasized, "This is a function that can maximize the performance of DB/SQL in a short period of time, and with these powerful functions provided, it will be possible to build a stable operating environment for open source DB in a short period of time."
