Openmade Consulting Opens a New Horizon in AI-Based Automated SQL Tuning
"Automated SQL Tuning" Using LLM Expected to Deliver Groundbreaking DB Performance Optimization and Operational Cost Reduction
Openmade Consulting, a professional database consulting firm, will officially launch its AI-based automated SQL tuning solution, 'Query-Medic', on the 20th.

'Query-Medic' is a solution that combines the reasoning capabilities of Large Language Models (LLM) with Openmade Consulting's SQL tuning expertise. It automates the entire process—from detecting performance-degrading and resource-intensive SQL 24/7 without human intervention to tuning and verifying the results.
When performing index tuning, it analyzes the performance impact on all related SQL statements using that table, helping performance managers quickly decide whether to apply the index. This proactively prevents DB performance degradation and achieves cost savings through efficient resource management.
Key features are as follows: First, it provides end-to-end automated SQL tuning across the entire development, testing, and operation lifecycle, constantly detecting performance-degrading and resource-intensive SQL and consistently handling everything from automated tuning to result verification.
Second, it automatically verifies the performance improvement and data integrity (comparing before/after results), providing only the validated SQL to the requester or performance manager. Third, through index impact analysis, it identifies the performance changes that new or modified indexes will have on all related SQL statements, supporting the decision-making process.
Fourth, it provides a quantitative analysis of the reduction in DB load and usage after the solution is applied. Furthermore, it has secured operational stability through pre-launch application and verification in numerous customer environments. Finally, it can be used with a simple registration process for all databases from development to production and supports various option settings required for SQL tuning management.
Continuous automated tuning improves application response times and proactively prevents performance failures. SQL performance optimization reduces costs associated with DB resource expansion and cloud usage. The automation of repetitive tuning tasks allows performance managers to focus on high-value work. Its on-premise and private environment-centric design reduces reliance on external API-based LLMs, lowering the risk of DB-related information leakage. Improved app speed reduces user complaints, prevents customer churn, and leads to enhanced business competitiveness.
Openmade Consulting emphasized, "Using Query-Medic will be an excellent opportunity to preemptively resolve recurring application service delays and DB performance issues that occur during information system services," adding, "It will be the best way to fundamentally solve the production of inappropriate SQL developed during SI/SM processes."
CEO Choi Young-cheol stated, "Following the launch of Query-Medic, we plan to evolve it into an sLLM (small LLM) specialized for SQL tuning through advanced learning using large-scale tuning case datasets and our tuning expertise." He added, "In 2026, we plan to expand into overseas markets and extend tuning support to open-source databases, and starting in 2027, we will provide a SaaS service in the cloud environment."
Additionally, Openmade Consulting will offer a trial service (Early Access) starting on the 20th, allowing customers to experience Query-Medic's features firsthand. Applications will be accepted through the official website, and opportunities will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
