Openmade Consulting (CEO Choi Young-cheol), a specialist in DB design, construction and performance improvement consulting, announced on the 17th that it is releasing a new version of OpenPop, its 'SQL performance optimization management solution' released last year, with new features.

OpenPop is a solution that proactively prevents DB failures caused by APP performance degradation through systematic management and control of APP/SQL performance quality throughout the entire process from the project development stage to distribution, application, and operation stages.

Since its debut in the market early last year, it has continuously strengthened its market demand and increased user convenience.

In addition, it received GS certification level 1 earlier this year.

The main functions of OpenPop, including the newly added 'DB/SQL performance online comprehensive diagnosis and time-series SQL performance tracking/analysis' function, are as follows.

◇Workflow-based SQL quality management = Implements automation of the SQL quality (performance/standard/sentence) management process combined with user management tools for each stage of the customer environment from development to operation, and improves the completeness of performance quality through stage-by-stage optimization.

◇SQL Quality Developer SELF Check = The quality check of SQL, which has traditionally been postponed until the testing stage, can now be performed in real time by the developers of the relevant APP through an Integrated Development Environment (IDE, hereafter IDE). This provides an environment where developers can improve the quality of SQL by checking the quality (performance/standards/sentences) of newly developed SQL early by linking the IDE and OpenPOP.

It also provides a function that allows quality managers to periodically perform quality inspection activities on SQL, and provides visualization information so that the status of quality inspection and quality improvement can be grasped at a glance.

◇Index automatic design and SQL performance impact analysis = It supports an index automatic design guide and an efficiency analysis function for index use that allows you to design the optimal index by analyzing the data's Access Path through APP's SQL collection, and it provides a function that automatically extracts related SQL that may have performance degradation due to object changes and analyzes the impact on performance.

◇ Distribution control of SQL with inadequate quality (performance/standard/sentence) = When deploying a completed APP to a staging server or an operational server, the Gate Keeper function performs the final verification of whether the SQL quality (performance/standard/sentence) is adequate. It determines whether the distribution is adequate based on the quality indicators defined by the customer, and if inadequate, controls the distribution and requests quality improvement work for the APP in question.

In particular, the progress of the SQL performance improvement process is managed through a separate process.

In order to improve customer convenience and distribution efficiency in this process, the customer's shape/distribution management system can be linked (customized) to OpenPOP to automate the process and minimize human intervention.

◇Operation DB execution SQL performance tracking = For APPs that have passed a strict verification process during the APP deployment stage and have been distributed/applied, the performance of the execution SQL is continuously observed/compares/analyzed for a certain period of time and the results are provided, thereby easily identifying SQLs in APPs that show a performance degradation trend and enabling preemptive performance optimization, thereby supporting various functions to implement early stabilization of the operation DB.

◇On-Line Comprehensive Diagnosis of DB/SQL Performance = Customers can enter the analysis target period at any time they want, and the DB status and performance diagnosis results of all executed SQLs during that period are comprehensively diagnosed and analyzed within a few minutes and provided online or in HTML file format.

This feature, which consists of only essential items for preemptive failure prevention, is differentiated from other companies' products or services in terms of its content and details.

In particular, while other products manage operating performance from the viewpoint of the current state, OpenPop analyzes the state of DB/SQL executed over a certain period of time, predicts future problems that may be caused by the current state, and checks and diagnoses the operating system from the viewpoint of a line connecting the past, present, and future to prevent them in advance.

The newly launched OpenPop has adopted a simple architecture that implements functional services on top of a Performance Optimization Platform.

An agentless environment was implemented in the customer's operational DB server to minimize the overhead of the operational server.

The company is also diversifying its sales strategy to conquer the market by selling product licenses and leasing products for a certain period of time through a monthly fee model (Subscription & Service).

It is currently being applied to the periodic business of KB Card, which opened in 2019, and is being introduced and piloted or under review by many public institutions and financial institutions.

In addition, ITCEN Group, a mid-sized SI company, is reviewing a strategic collaboration plan to utilize OpenPOP as a solution for 'SQL performance quality optimization' and 'preemptive prevention of operational DB performance failures' when carrying out SI/SM projects by linking its development and operation platform (framework) with OpenPOP.

Furthermore, CEO Choi said, "Through this, we will be able to completely prevent DB failures caused by performance degradation of the App in advance by implementing an automated process for quality optimization management of the App's SQL performance, and we will be able to greatly contribute to significantly reducing the repetitive infrastructure investment costs for solving problems related to DB performance degradation."

In addition to the launch of this product, Openmade Consulting will also provide two new services to customers by utilizing the functions of OpenPop.
